Guidelines for Authors
Aim and Scope of Journal
The journal Mechanical Engineering publishes original scientific papers in
English in the field of mechanics of solids, liquids
and thermodynamics (see here).
The article submitted to the journal is taken to imply that it
presents original, unpublished work, not under consideration for
publication elsewhere. The copyright covers the exclusive rights
to reproduce, distribute, and translate the article, including
photographic reproduction. If an article is considered as
a contribution to a scientific seminar or conference,
the author must inform the editorials about the name, time, and
place of the conference and the title of his contribution.
Articles cannot be published without
completing this form.
The manuscript must be prepared in text editor (the most suitable system is
TeX/AmS-TeX, but commonly used text editors are also acceptable). The manuscript
in editable form and the same one converted into PDF must be sent simultaneously
by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Length of the paper should not
exceed 20 “standard pages” (i.e. 20x1800 characters). Longer papers could be
returned to the author for shortening.
The main text of the paper should be divided into sections and subsections and
pages should be enumerated. The manuscript must consist of the following parts:
title, annotation, keywords, references, and author's data.
If the title is too long (max. 75 characters), it is necessary to include
its brief version.
Annotation and Keywords.
Annotation is a brief and factual statement of the content. It
should not exceed 200 words. Furthermore, it is necessary to
add 5-7 key words.
Black-and-white or in the shades of grey illustrations are free of charge.
Colour illustration are paid, each page with the colour figure will be paid
40 EUR. Illustrations must be either inserted in the text of the manuscript
or (preferably) attached on separate sheets. Sending illustrations in individual
files of type PCX, PNG, TIF, BMP (resolution 600x600 DPI for black-and-white drawing
or 300x300 DPI for greyscale illustration, size 1:1 for printing)
or PDF, EPS, AI, CDR, PS (vector graphics) is welcome. Text in figures must
be readable. Photographs must be clear, of perfect technical quality.
Captions of figures and tables.
Figures and tables should be consequently Arabic enumerated.
References (books, journals, proceedings respectively) should
be provided in the following styles:

List of Authors.
List of authors with full addresses (name, family name, title,
affiliation address and e-mail address) must be enclosed. Corresponding
author must be highlighted.
The reception of any manuscript is confirmed to the corresponding author
by e-mail. Authors of successfully reviewed papers
receive the proofs and they are particularly requested to return
them immediately to the editorial office. There is no financial
compensation for any article.
